The VehicleDynamics library offers flexible and convenient drag and drop and template based design and configuration of vehicle models to study vehicle handling. The library comes in different versions with varying levels of fidelity. In it's simplist form, the suspension systems are modelled using look-up tables that define the suspension characteristics and at the most detailed level the suspensions are modelled as MultiBody systems and can include non-linear bushes as required.
As with all Dymola libraries, the Vehicle Dynamics library is based on the Modelica modeling language, which means that the
implementation and model details are fully open to the user. This gives advanced users total flexibiltiy to define their own models and experiments whilst new users can make use of the supplied templates and graphical modelling environment to quickly get started.
The flexbility of the library stretches to cover multiple engineering domains so that vehicle handling models can be extended to include control, hydraulics, pneumatics, powertrains
and electrical systems. This enables the whole vehicle system to be simulated and studied in one simulation environment.
The library also includes a powerful 3D road builder, a range of open and closed loop driver models and various test rigs that enable the suspension system and complete vehicle model to be simulated in many different scenarios.
